The rockpile at the outlet of Moraine Lake has two high points. I took this image from one of them looking at the other. Where the lady in blue is standing is probably the most desired viewpoint.

The fog blocked the majestic peaks above the lake, but we take the weather we get. Fortunately I returned later to see the rest of this special view.

"The Rockpile Trail along the actual moraine is approximately 300 metres long, with an elevation change of 24 metres (79 ft). The view of the lake from the top of the rockpile is one of the most photographed locations in all of Canada. That view of the mountains behind the lake in Valley of the Ten Peaks is known as the Twenty Dollar View, as Moraine Lake was featured on the reverse side of the 1969 and 1979 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill."

Hope you all get to stand here one day.

Another favorite peak on a misty autumn sundown. Stunning Lake Moraine and the Valley of the Ten Peaks lies to the right.

Mount Babel is located in Banff National Park near the Lake Louise area. It is situated immediately east of the Continental Divide in The Valley of the Ten Peaks, or Wenkchemna Valley. It is part of the Bow Range and Wenkchemna Peaks which tower above Moraine Lake which is northwest of Mount Babel. The scenic Moraine Lake was formed by a rock slide off Mount Babel that dammed Moraine Creek.

A few more shots of this area in comments.

Happy Friday! May your day be fabulous.

I was glad I was able to get this reflection as the storm clouds were moving in and those beautiful glacial waters would soon be whipped up. And that they were......

Thanks for your visit! Always appreciated.

Off to Glacier and Waterton parks for next week. Going to get my "bliss" fix, like I did here at enchanting Lake Moraine in Alberta.

Weather forecast isn't very good, with storms predicted most of the week, but hope to get some good photos.

Wishing you all a fabulous week, filled with much happiness and satisfaction.

A couple hikers head up the rockpile trail to the top to view Lake Moraine. The Tower of Babel stands out ahead.

"The Tower of Babel was named such by Walter Wilcox as it reminded him of the biblical rendition that reached into the heavens. Because of it's prominent view from the lake this quartzite spire is much better known than the mountain named after it, Mount Babel, which is directly behind (south) of the tower."

Glad to turn the calendar page on February. Spring is getting closer. :-)
