The Ten Peaks were shrouded this chilly autumn morning which created a beautiful moody ambience for first light. Waited hours before a peak finally poked thru (seen below).
Never a bad day here.

Enjoy a wonderful Holiday weekend!

A shot of sunrise with one of the Ten Peaks breaking thru the clouds at Moraine Lake.
Happy Winter Solstice!

Today the sun stops (solstitium) moving further away from the North Pole and begins arriving earlier and setting later each day.
I prefer more light then dark so appreciate the arrival of this signal day and event.
Here in Spokane the sun sets today at 3:59. :-(( Our sun rises at 7:34. We are on the eastern edge of the Pacific time zone so we lose the sun much sooner than those on the western side of the zone. While long nights are good for sleeping they are not good for getting outdoor chores done, or for photography.
Much prefer the longer days.
Also, Happy Friday!

Textures for Thursday.

Looking across Moraine Lake at some interesting shapes and varied textures. The reflections created some nice geometric patterns.

Enjoy a wonderful Thursday!

The last light of the day shines on some iconic Canadian peaks near Moraine Lake.

Bident and Quadra mountains to the left of imposing Mt. Babel with 3 of the Ten Peaks to the right (Mt. Little, Bowlen and Tonsa).

I'm a peak geek and these are some of my favorites.
Thanks for taking a peek!

Looking over the overflow outlet as the setting sun shines on a few of the Ten Peaks that surround Moraine Lake. The lake overflows like this in the spring/early summer, but then dries up till the next year. Does create a large logjam that add's to the lake's charm.

Thanks for your visit! Always appreciated.

Enjoy your Sunday!
