A section of one one of the West's major rivers, the Snake, taken between Farewell Bend and Weiser ID (where I was born). The Oregon Trail is close nearby.

At 1,078 miles long, it is the largest tributary of the Columbia River, in turn the largest North American river that empties into the Pacific Ocean. Formed by the confluence of three tiny streams on the southwest flank of Two Oceans Plateau in Yellowstone National Park the Snake starts out flowing west and south into Jackson Lake. The Snake is the river running thru the Tetons, famous for it's beauty and many curves.

Have a wonderful summer weekend!
