Street girl (hooker, known in Mexican Spanish as una paradita, "a standing girl") outside a telephone shop (for placing telephone calls, not buying phones...) in Tijuana, BCN, Mexico, in the Zona Norte. Taken in 2003 by a Nikkormat FT2 with a 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor-S non-AI lens. Exposure and film type (400 ISO, though - the Nikkormat has never had any other ISO put thru it!) long forgotten! Cropped.
There used to be a lot of these "telephone shops" in Tijuana, but they've mostly gone out of business (there still are a few, though...) with the cell phone revolution. (It used to be very difficult to get a land-line in TJ... it took years on a waiting list, for no apparent reason! [without a subtle mordita, {bribe} that is! Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge, Know what I mean?...])
Do NOT use the term "puta" to, or within the hearing of, one of these girls: (certainly not if you "party" with her, or plan to...) it is the equivalent of "Whore" in English, only even more demeaning.
