The grizzly this time of the year come down to the inlet to eat the sedge grass. They eat 30 to 40 pounds of sedge grass a day. It is a great source of protein to build their muscles after the long winter. Sedge grass is made up of 25% protein.

Had a memorable trip to Khutzeymateen “Valley of the Grizzly” with Classic Canadian tours. We were fortunate enough to see 14 grizzlies and numerous birds on the 7 Hr trip on the water north of Prince Rupert. Highlight of the trip was the Bald Eagles.

Brooks Lodge, Katmai Alaska was a memorable trip watching the bears fish in the river. Looking through my archives with the crappy weather we are having.
