The headless moon goddess of the mis-named White Shaman panel. A small peek at the whole thing. This panel and the current understanding of it is a great example of what you can find out if you just ask the right people.

Went here back in 2008 when the world was much calmer and this was still a peaceful escape after a long hike to get there. I just had an inexpensive pocket camera (Canon SD870 with a whopping 8MP). It was my first step into the world of Digital cameras from the old SLR cameras. I did get about 25% good photos with it and maybe 2-3 excellent ones per hundred.

After giving us the Palatki ruins/rock art tour, our friends Larry and Shermane showed us some Sedona sites that most tourists never know about. The first was a short hike to a relatively small, but exceptional rock art panel. The next was a hike up a beautiful canyon to some hidden ruins high in a cliff wall and then to a massive rock art panel that ran about the length of a football field.
For our annual spring fling, we chose Sedona, Arizona. We spent 7 days hiking trails around Sedona and a day hiking the Grand Canyon's South Rim. The highlight of our trip was spending 4 days on the trails with Larry and Shermane who we met last year at The Citadel Ruin on Cedar Mesa. They graciously opened their home to us and showed us Sedona area sites that the average tourist would never know about.
