#Flickr Friday - Eyes
A male Ring-necked Duck has been hanging out at the ponds in Carrie Blake Park lately. I like this pose because you can see both of the eyes, along with their reflections, plus a bit of the ring around the neck. I decided to try out a round crop, since it kind of goes with the eye theme and the water was not very attractive.
I will likely be quite busy over the next several weeks, but I will pop in when I can.

Yesterday's male bufflehead seemed a bit lonely, so I decided to add a potential mate for him. The female buffleheads are not as difficult to shoot lighting-wise, but this little gal was quite active. I like having a bit of the female mallard in the frame to add some size perspective.

These little ducks are not easy to shoot. It's nice to have a little sunlight to bring out the colors, but not so much that it blows out all of that bright white. HWW

Last winter my wife and I went south to volunteer and then did some camping between visiting friends and family. While we were camping, we had storm systems moving in and out. This storm was actually on the way out, but the rain from this system was followed by a very cold and windy day. At least we got some nice sunlight as we were leaving Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.
