It was a beautiful afternoon. Not a breath of wind. The mist was slowly clearing as the sun broke through. The stillness was breathtaking. Almost as if planet earth was taking a break.
MY SELECTION FOR BEST SHOT 2018
It was difficult to select a best shot. Not because my photography is great, but because I always think I can do better. This shot combines a few things I love. Firstly the subject (my wife) and the dog we have befriended. The location - Fleet Pond Nature Reserve in Hampshire, UK, and finally, the light and stillness. It was shot in the afternoon, but because of the mist could be sunset or sunrise. We had quite a challenging year on personal levels in 2018 and for me this represents a calmness despite this and a look forward to 2019.
