Often when we think of perfection we think of flawless. Maybe the perfect fall portrait should be children with clean faces and perfect outfits. The kind you order online or buy at a special kind of store. Matching fall colors and them smiling just as their told at the camera. But this afternoon was pretty perfect to me. My two little ones got to splurge and eat Oreos which is pretty rare around our house. When we arrived at the Nature trail I thought about wiping their faces clean first but they had already settled naturally in the middle of this path and had found two sticks they were using to play with. (yes my boys entertain themselves frequently with sticks lol). There are no matching outfits, just what we threw on that morning before a rushed day of early errands and appointments. My kids were thrilled to stop and be free, run and play along the path, play with sticks and be children. When I look at this picture I'll remember REAL life memories and everything I just told you will surface in my mind and make me smile all over again. And to me that makes it perfect :)
