Actor Adolphe Jean Menjou (1890 – 1963) was a film star with a noteworthy career spanning both silent films and talkies. He appeared in such films as The Sheik, A Woman of Paris, Morocco, and A Star is Born. He was nominated for an Academy Award for The Front Page in 1931. In his frequent appearances he was often seen as a well-dressed man-about-town. Menjou owned two houses in Los Feliz; the first, a French Tudor house designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann in 1927, located next door at 2612 Nottingham Avenue, and this English Tudor beauty designed by Architect A.G. Bailey in 1934.
