I've heard the expression that landscape photography is the product of getting to the location and then waiting. That was the case here with this image. The clouds were hanging low and covering the upper portion of the falls. It kept hinting at possibly clearing only to completely blanket the mountain time and time again. After a while, the the sun began to set and the light was going crazy all over the valley, and here I was waiting. It was torture to say the least! My gut instinct was telling me to stay, and sure enough as the light grew warmer the mists and fog suddenly parted, revealing what you see here. This spot was not easy to get to. You have to cross several different creeks to get here, carefully stepping on stones and branches in order to not get soaked in the ice cold water. I almost left several times. I'm so glad I didn't.
