Just the day before I made this photo I had a very funny encounter at this place in my photo. I was on my way home after I reached the summit of the mountain in the morning! I took the descent over the harmless southern flank to get down. At the height of about 1’800 meters I made a short break and gave something to eat to my dog Giorgio and looked around to enjoy the area. It was a rare beautiful day and the sun showed its best side all the time. What a great feeling to be up there. Fresh air and no one who will tell you what one has to do and no one who babbles all the time.

Well, this feeling was only for a short time! An elderly was coming down the same way like me and reached my position. He greeted me very friendly and began a conversation with me. Did I say conversation? No, it was a monologue ;-) But he was very kind and my dog Giorgio liked him, for he began to lick his hand he he he :-) And in order to avoid to become bored, the old man unasked began to explain all surrounding mountains. And he ignored completely my timid objections that I also had a certain knowledge of the area. And he talked and talked … I could not find the “Mute”-button to stop this agony. Giorgio turned his head … I think he was crying or he wanted to tell me “Do something!!!” ;-))

At some point in his conversation he suddenly asked me how I came down the mountain! “I took the harmless southern flank to get down, Sir!” was my response. He ignored my response and insisted that the southern flank would be very difficult and would be only appropriate for experienced climbers like him. “What? Difficult? The southern flank? It’s only a walk got get up Sir!” was my opinion. And believe me dear friends, it’s really just a walk. At no time I had to climb! But the old man just looked funny at me. So I repeated my answer friendly. He shook his head regretfully and said “The southern flank? No, no, my little child, this is nothing for you! The southern flank is only for adults!”

I was almost shocked and looked alternately to the man and then to Giorgio! What should I say to the poor old man? I decided to accompany the old man down to the valley. On the way down he told us again all the names of all mountains of the area. But today after a certain time I must confess, it was very funny :-)

I want to thank all very much for your "views", "Comments" and "Favourites" :-) The only thing that matters is that you have joy in this photo. Again, thank you :-)

Long time before the creation, one day the elements came to present themselves before the mighty. Everyone wanted to prevail over a large part of the earth. But the Mighty was wise and rightful, therefore he divided the earth fairly among the elements. The water dominated the cold world, which consisted entirely of ice. But there was also a hot world, full of embers and flames. Between this two worlds, there was a mysterious nothingness, an immense gaping emptiness without light and structures.

The two forces fire and ice were not satisfied with the division of the world, because each of them wanted to have more. In the cold world the water decided to divert a river in the direction of the mysterious world of nothingness. Their water turned into ice, which continued to expand in the direction of the nothingness. The same idea had the fire with the magma flows. And so the inevitable happened. In the world of nothingness fire and ice clashed!

Tremendous forces collided and caused an apocalyptic catastrophe of gargantuan proportions. The earth shook, and huge cracks appeared while in other places the earth were formed to huge mountains. Fire and lava veins cooled, the ice melted and the water began to boil. Vapour and mist rose into the air where they were transformed to charged and dark clouds. It started to rain and there were also storms and lightning. And then … there was silence … for a long time there was no more noise … and suddenly the light penetrated in this darkness, because the light wanted to see what had happened. The whole world shone and showed her beauty. There was heat, air, clouds, mountains, valleys and fields. The paradise was born!

The fall colours were unexpectedly back again in Zürich yesterday afternoon. Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland with approximately 380’000 inhabitants. Thinking about this fact I have to laugh, because quite honestly, compared with cities from abroad we are tiny as ants (lol). Well, the city of Zürich was already known as Turicum during Roman times, but only since the modern times this city became a economic, scientific and cultural center. The outstanding economic importance of Zürich, especially in the service sector (banking and insurance, communication, television, tourism) is even stronger through the nearby airport Zürich-Kloten.

Well, here I am also working :-) Normally, I would never take pictures near my place of work, I avoid this area like vampires the sunlight. But my wife had here to do some business. What to do with the time? Well, just enjoy these moments :-) I stood on the bridge „Quaibrücke“ and looked at the lake „Zürichsee“. On the left side you can still see a part of the city and in the background the beginning of the Alps. A wonderful sight.

The funny thing is that my wife hates this city! Every time she knows that she has to come to Zürich, she gets headaches days before. She invents the most incredible stories in order to not come to this city. Similar as the piano student who says that he could not practice at home, because the children hid the laundry into the piano :-)

However, when I showed her yesterday evening the photos, she stepped back, bowed and said „I love Zürich! What a city“ :-)

I want to thank all very much for your "views", "Comments" and "Favourites" :-) The only thing that matters is that you have joy in this photo. Again, thank you :-)

Why such a title? Well, I’ll explain it to you. I was just in the city of Winterthur on a hill called „Heiligberg“ (Holy Mountain). Here I looked at the facade of a school building. It was very windy and cloudy, but I could see amazing sunrays shining through the clouds. It was not the lines and textures of the facade, but the gathering of light and shadow in the passageway. This was incredibly fascinating for me. In short … It looked cool!

I took the camera and positioned myself so that I could see exactly what you see on the image. I waited for the right light … and waited … and waited … and … CLICK! Voila! And in the photo was Batman, Spiderman and the incredible Hulk! What???? Three small children were running through the columns of the passage and jumped right into my area! Apparently they were at a children’s party and were actually disguised as heroes. The little green Hulk pursued them. I think he was upset because he was all green (lol).

We looked at each other and started to laugh. Then they were my assistants :-) I told them the theory of exposure, composition, etc. "Puahhhh how boring," came the reply. "Should I photograph the building on fire and scream 'Look here my work'?" I asked. "Oh yes, Action!“ said Batman, his eyes twinkling.

Well, I took two photos of the passage. "Which photo should I keep, Photo 1 or Photo 2?" I asked. "Both" said all three. "But how do you like Photo 1?" I asked again. "Fine" was the reply. "And Photo 2?" "Fine“ again the same answer. "No, again, if you need to delete one, which one would you delete?" I asked again. "Can we give the photo to someone?" asked the hero. "No Spiderman, we can not!" I answered. "So if you see Photo 1, would you keep it?". "Yes" said Batman and Hulk shouted from behind "Can we see the building exploding in giant balls of fire?“. „What???". „No!! Of course not" I said. And Spiderman suddenly said "I like Photo 2 best, but with fire and flames". A rushing to and fro a quarter of an hour!

Finally, we were able to decide yet. And my gift was a memorable little adventure with three young heroes. You see Photo 1, the choice of Batman, Spiderman and Hulk :-)

I want to thank all very much for your "views", "Comments" and "Favourites" :-) The only thing that matters is that you have joy in this photo. Again, thank you :-)

The lake Hüttwilersee is one of three small lakes of the glacially formed area of Thurgau Seebachtal. The unique lakes landscape is not only enchanting beautiful, but also an important habitat for a rich fauna and flora. Originally the area around the three lakes was a moorland with little forest. By 1860 the lakes were still connected together but then the water level was lowered by 3 Meters. 1943 and 1960 the moorlands were drained only to get more land for agriculture. As a result, the water status of the lake deteriorated rapidly. But in 1994, the Foundation Seebachtal was founded, which has set itself the objective of maintaining the natural cultural landscape in the field of the lakes of the area :-)
