Continuing with the ‘archive’ material while fresh shooting is made unattractive by grey weather.

The Canyon is a hopping/leisure complex (mall) in the modern Levent area of Istanbul and represents one of the best examples of contemporary architecture: it is literally a canyon, going several floors below street level in a double-S shaped artificial serpentine. All gallery parapets, walls and shop windows follow these elegant curves, producing fine views from all angles. An entertainment area in the centre of the bottom level converts to a disco floor or ice rink, under a ‘starry sky’ shell. While the shopping is too ‘globalised’ (the same fashion and luxury brands as everywhere else), I’ve found it a nice place for a leisurely coffee, a business or social meal surrounded by a beautiful crowd… Recommended!
