PLEASE SEE IT LARGE On Black
My dear friends, welcome to my last upload for 2010.
I have just gone back to my 2009 picture and read my resolutions for 2010: I'm pretty happy to say that I did a great job on every point.
I have worked all this year, and even if sometimes I haven't been that happy with what I was doing, I have made some decisions and 2011 is expected to be even busier than 2010.
I haven't given up with my training (despite a small elbow injury occurred last June) and I've spent a lot less time on Forums.
Travels have been an important enjoyment of this 2010 and more of them are coming (see my 2011 resolutions).
As for the full frame camera... It's six months the 5d2 is in my hands!
So, it's now time to think about what I really HAVE to do in 2011:
1) Become proficient in really long exposures (even night time ones);
2) start printing my shots: I have printed just a few images, I definitely need to improve on that;
3) No laziness: keep up with my training program;
4) Experiment even more with Infrared (can't wait for spring to come for that);
5) Get up to Norway and shoot the Aurora (dear
Arild, you know what I mean);
6) Travel a lot and get many sunrises (during weekends);
7) Most difficult: really think about what I really want to do in my life.
I will struggle to succeed with every point, I promise!!!
Back to the shot: I have taken this on a dull rainy sunday in November. I decided to get out with my camera anyway and, driving up to 600 m (on sea level), I could get over the clouds and experience a great sunset:
everything was moving pretty fast and many times I happened to be in the middle of a thick fog.
This has been the last image of the day: as soon as I have seen it on the LCD of my 5d2 I have loved it.
Black and white works well with this image, since the grass in November has a pretty unflattering green color, which, one converted, creates a pleasant shade of grey.
I think this image sums up pretty well the ending of 2010 and the beginning of 2011: the dynamics of the scene create a nice mirroring of the transition between the old and the new.
I really want to thank you for the big support received through all this year, both from my 'old' contacts and from those new. I have come across many amazing and talented people, can't wait to see what they'll do in the future.
wishing you a fantastic 2011!!!

1) Migliorare la tecnica sulle lunghe esposizioni (giorno e notte);
2) Affrontare la stampa delle immagini: fino ad ora ho completato pochissime stampe, devo assolutamente migliorarmi;
3) No alla pigrizia: continuare il programma di allenamento;
4) Continuare la sperimentazione sull'infrarosso;
5) Scattare l'aurora boreale in Norvegia (
Arild... A presto!);
6) Viaggiare molto e scattare il maggior numero possibile di albe;
