Time really flies!!!

Last monday I came back from my two-weeks trip in northern Spain. It all went great, I didn't always get splendid cloudy skies like I expected but just being
in some wonderful places at sunrise-sunset is an adequate payoff.

Before leaving, I hoped August would have been quiet as for work but as soon I reached home I realized I had new stuff to be completed before the end of the
month, so I will need to find some time to archive and process the newly produced files.

As for my professional life, I'm thinking about moving to get new experiences: at the moment I'm into some 'preliminary' researches mainly in the UK-Ireland areas,
which could provide me some great places to shoot, too. Stay tuned for future updates on this.

This is from my first sunrise photoshoot, at the beginning of the third day off: since I drove for almost 1300 km on the first day, the second morning I decided
to sleep a couple hours more to recharge the batteries.

After this trip I can say that I am a little more aware of the 5d2 potential and I finally started to have a more 'professional' approach to landscape shooting: Manual Focus now is a must, and grad filters are always present!!!

You can see the whole trip (I tracked my position using a GPS unit) in the first comment at the bottom.

Details
- CANON 5d Mark II, EF 17-40 @ 21mm, f/16, 1/2 s, ISO 100
- Lee Soft Grad 0.9
- Mirror Lockup, Phottix TR-90 Remote Shutter
- Tripod

The shot
Shot a few minutes after sunrise. At the left there's the ocean, I have some captures of the pre-sunrise in that area, but I'm not completely satisfied
with those compositions.

The Processing

Photoshop:

- Removed a spot of lens flare and a plastic bag with the Clone Stamp - Healing brush tool;
- Switched to LAB to pull out some color variation;
- Added a few Overlay-Soft Light layers to improve light distribution;
- Back to RGB, added a vibrance to enhance the color everywhere except from the sky;
- Added a Color Balance layer;
- Added a Curve Layer to improve contrast;
- Resized;
- Unsharp Mask tune to slightly improve contrast even more;
- Sharpening (Smart Sharpen + more accurate);
- Framing and signature.
