Starting to feel a little more at ease with my 5d2...

My 'new' attitude on landscape photography isn't really easy to master: it's sometimes frustrating wait for something that never arrives!
I know that these initial difficult moments will become less and less important as soon as I will be rewarded by some incredible scenes.

I am tracking a few good spots for my Spain Holiday, I finally booked everything, now I only have to wait these nine last days!!!

Fortunately, all my purchases arrived today: after almost a month and a half with something on its way home, it's a pretty strange feeling.

Tomorrow I will be getting up really early again: hope this time things will work out better!!!

I'm not completely satisfied with this one: I find that those dark trees in the middle portion of composition just lock the eye. It was the best I could do,
so I'll go with it.

Details
- CANON 5d Mark II, EF 17-40 @ 23mm, f/13, 0.5 s, ISO 100
- Lee Soft Grad (0.9, 3 stops)
- Mirror Lockup, Phottix TR-90 Remote Shutter
- Tripod

The shot
Shot a few minutes after sunset.

The Processing

Photoshop:

- Switched to LAB to pull out some colors and improve contrast (just a little);
- Added a few overlay layers to equalize light as I wanted;
- Cloned away two dust spots (Patch tool and healing brush);
- Used a Color Balance layer to get better tones;
- Resized;
- Improved the contrast with an Unsharp Mask tune;
- Sharpening (Smart Sharpen + more accurate);
- Framing and signature.

Take a look at it, LARGE on Black :
