Frost sharpens the edges of bullrushes in the shallows of the reservoir and a light mist throws a thin veil over willows at the water's edge.

THE WHISPER OF BULLRUSHES
Here we stand,
toes fixed in the glassed water,
offering our seeds for distribution
by the merest breath of air.
Behind us
the willows disolve into the distance:
their outlines softened by the light mist,
wrapping itself
gently
around their bare limbs . . . . . . .(From a poem I was prompted to write after reflecting on this scene) Errol.
