You should view this at the original or larger sizes to see the detail in the sunset.
Unlike my other image of the Pigeon Point lighthouse I took a great deal of
color tweaking license with the sunset enhancing the image by using the
saturation feature to bring out color detail much greater than was seen with
the camera. This was just done for fun and for the overall
effect on the image. It is not meant to be an accurate representation of the
sunset on that day. I hope you enjoy this interpretation of the sunset. I
think it makes for a catchy wallpaper that grabs the eye of anyone walking
by. It is similar to the over saturated color you might see in an oil
painting by someone like Thomas Kincade or other such artist. Comments are

Another panorama where I took about 8 images and stitched them together in
Photoshop.
This is a shot of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. The sun
would dance in and out of the fog where next to Fort Point but never really
showed itself the way we had hoped. Still when I stitched the shots
together I really liked the results. If you check it out in large format,
you can clearly see the Lighthouse on top of Fort Point. I do with they'd
light this back up. It would make for a really nice addition to the shot.
You can make out a few cars tail light headed though the tunnel on the far
end of the bridge. The fog rolls over the hills of the Marin Headlands as
the summer sun dips in to the Pacific. Never can see to get enough shots
of the Golden Gate Bridge and will keep going back for more. I think it's
probably the most photographed bridge anywhere. Hope you enjoyed my

I had originally pulled over here to take a picture of a really bright Ice
Rainbow (See Photo Stream) and had to scamper down a cliff of boulders to
get to the water's edge. Not easy with camera gear. As we watched the sun
go down I decided to stay and shoot the sunset. I wasn't disappointed. I
am told the sunset on Tahoe is always pretty spectacular.
Lake Tahoe is the largest freshwater alpine lake and second deepest in the
US. It is second only to Crater Lake in the Cascade Mountain range in
Oregon. You can come to Lake Tahoe for many reasons. Obviously I came
for the photography and stunning scenery. The lake also offers boating and
many water sports. Skiing both on the water and the snow of the mountain
slopes surrounding the lake. One of the biggest draws is that Lake Tahoe is
the first place along the California Nevada boarder that you will find major
Casinos for gambling and the shows for which the casinos are known for. We
noticed most of this along the Southern Shore of Lake Tahoe. You will
certainly know when you cross from California to Nevada.
To choose Photography you need to find areas of Lake Tahoe that are less
developed. It took a bit of driving to find this spot which was on the
Nevada side looking back at the sunset over California. I've seen many
great shots of the lake with nothing man made so I know there are some great
shots. I hope to return this Winter to get some shots of Lake Tahoe after a
fresh snowfall. Some of the best pictures are of the lake in the Snow.
For now, I present to you this image of Lake Tahoe at Sunset which I named
Fire in the Sky. I think you can see why.

I have a number of shots of this sunset on Bull Frog Pond in the Armstrong
State Redwood Park just off the Russian River in California. It was hard to
choose one shot as it changed from moment to moment. This little pond sits
way back in the park up at the top of a steep drive. There is a campground
nearby and you could smell the campfires the whole time we sat by the pond
taking pictures. We really wanted to go over and sit around one of the many
campfires but alas, we were there for the photography and not to camp.
As it turns out I got more than I bargained for on the trip. It seems that
nature photography has many hazards. On this trip I brought a little friend
home. A tick hitched a ride then decided I would make for a good meal. I
had done all the normal precautions. Deet, several layers of clothing and
yet he found his way under my shirt and on to my side. Rule learned, check
yourself when you return. I got the tick off within the 24 hour period of
time and took it to the doctor to be identified. Typical deer tick. He
paid the ultimate price and lived out his remaining time in a sealed
bio-hazard bin. Ah sweet justice. Just wanted you to know all the trouble
I go though to bring you these shots. :-)

I often stop at Baker Beach but not usually to take pictures of anything but
the Golden Gate Bridge. However upon this night when getting out of the
car, this was the view. I had to zoom out to get the moon over the beach
but I thought the sunset, moon and people on the beach made for a great
shot. When I got home, I liked what I had managed to capture. Baker Beach
is a great place to stop and get images of The Golden Gate Bridge. I have
several from this beach of the Golden Gate Bridge and they always turn out
good.
