Image Description: |
Standing on the banks of the Merced River below El Capitan, even at a good distance, is unreal. The rock face is so massive it’s hard to believe your eyes. People on the face of the rock become less than a single pixel even in the 36 Megapixels of the Nikon D800. The sun was arching northward as it set and I waited for a long time for sun and clouds to get in just the right condition. Light filtered through the clouds to create a spectacular sunset in Yosemite Valley. The biggest problem with sunsets is they change too fast. Within minutes this one was gone and Yosemite Valley turned dark. But I have yet to see a sunset I haven’t enjoyed, albeit briefly. |
