The clouds seemed to almost point to the Northern tower of the Golden Gate Bridge as the sun dipped past the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. The entire bay turned pink and orange as photographers lined up in mass along Battery Spencer. This is perhaps the most popular shot of the most popular bridge and graceful bridge in the world. And yet, each sunset makes it unique and offers its own challenges. This particular night drew more photographers than I had seen for just a sunset. The parking lot was lined with people waiting for a spot to open. I was in the area doing a shoot in Tiburon and thought at first to go to Crissy Field but by the time I arrived the clouds has all moved to the East so it was a dash back across the bridge and then parking at the first opening I found.

We arrived to see one of the more colorful sunsets that I can remember. Suiting being that I am leaving the Bay Area and will be moving far enough away that it will be rare that I get to see it. Living here in the Bay Area has been a blast and I have enjoyed the unique photographic opportunities but it is time to fine new vistas. I know that none will compare to the Golden Gate Bridge. It is by far the most beautiful manmade structures that I have seen and even so it serves a vital functions to the city of San Francisco and surrounding areas that goes far beyond its function as a bridge.

San Francisco and the Bay Area will be missed and I have learned much in my time here. The multicultural mix that makes up the city makes it possibly the most tolerant city in the United States. Life here is fast but at the same time relaxed and you will meet people from all around the world on any given day. You will see things you never thought you would see. Enjoy foods you never imagine existed and see sights you never imagined were possible. If you are considering it for a vacation, I highly recommend it. So much to see in such a short time. So much to learn.
