No, it's not the 4th of July just yet. This is a shot from celebration of the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th Anniversary fireworks and light show. The Golden Gate Bridge has become synonymous with California and more importantly the San Francisco. It is the gateway for tourist destined to Yosemite, Kings and Sequoia National Park the Central California Coastal Beaches, Lake Tahoe and a number of other destinations throughout California. The firework show, combined with a mass light show and various pyrotechnics were launched from just about every section of the bridge and several barges below. Here are Firefalls that could contend with Niagara Falls just begins to wind down as the first bursts or brilliant orange blooms appear over the bridge. The entire thing is reflected in the Pacific Ocean over 200 feet below. The show was a moving and emotional experience for all who attended. The wonderful city of San Francisco can be seen clearly in the background. Coit tower was illuminated in Golden Gate Orange for the occasion. You can also just see the edge of the Bay Bride lights illuminating the skyline. Look carefully though the smoke and you will find the Transamerica Pyramid. Sutro Tower remained hidden during much of the show shrouded in fog. But we lucked out big time as the fog remained clear of the Golden Gate Bridge and we had nothing but clear skies to provide some bright stars from the Marin Headlands. |
