Image Description: |
The Pacific Ocean turned moody blues shortly after sunset as clouds quickly consumed the sky from the north. Waves overlaped to make beautiful streaks of blue and aqua hues. Davenport's famous sea stack rises out of the sea, its red rock contrasting against the aqua hues of the churning surf. Ripples of sea foam rush back to the sea as another massive Pacific Wave begins to curl just below the horizon. The sense of power of the sea leaves you awestruck. Even after all these years, I still find gazing on the ocean to be a unique spiritual experience. I still recall the first time I ever saw the Pacific as a young child. It's vastness laid out before me and the immensity of the sight is incomprehensible, the sound overwhelming as waves clap like thunder, the unique salty smell and even the cool dampness of the breeze excite all the senses. Even after living near the coast for a number of years the Pacific never ceases to evoke that emotional sense of awesomeness and adventure that I first had as a child. Perhaps that's what keeps drawing me back to film the sea day after day. |
