Image Description: |
Davenport beach has many unique geological structures worthy of photographing. The main attraction is a towering sea stack, cliffs on either side, and a smooth sandy beach where windblown sea foam dances and skips up the beach in the light breeze. But the most interesting vista may comes from its two creek channels that lead to the sea. The one on the north end is the most easily accessible during low tide and leads to a tunnel that crosses underneath highway one. Then there is this beautiful and lush little creek that lies at the southern most end of the beach. Water carves it's way to the sea and the sea rushes back up the carved channel to meet the creek head on in a thunderous splash before receding back in to the sea creating dozens of little cascades that drop in to the six foot deep channel. |
