Image Description: |
Slipping into Yosemite Valley you are greeted by an incredible vista but it’s easy to miss these spires as you drive by and move deeper into the dense forest. If you know where to stop, a small unmarked trail takes you down to the river’s edge. Looking East you see the Three Brothers, and looking North El Capitan looms over you like a sleeping giant. But if you glance down the Merced to the West, you see these glorious spires reaching high into the sky. You probably saw them from the other side where they slope upward above Bridalveil Fall. The reflections are so crisp it’s hard to believe this is a flowing river and a raging torrent in the Spring. My toe accidentally touched the river’s edge sending rings traveling out endlessly as I waited somewhat impatiently for them to recede. |
