If you stick with a subject long enough, you will eventually get lucky.
I've known for some time that the local park was often visited by blue, gray
and snowy white egrets but I've had a hard time getting close to these shy
birds. I had just about given up for the day but decided to walk over to
the shaded area of the lake. There was this snowy white egret standing
there and more approachable than even the mallards. This one seemed to
enjoy the camera and posed right in front of the reflections of the sunset
on the golden grassy hills and a deep blue sky. Sometimes you just get
lucky.
