User / Darvin Atkeson / Hail to the Surf God - Muir Beach, California

A die hard surfer raises his arms to hail the Surf God for one more set.

Not far from Muir Woods sits a secluded, small beach where you and your dogs
can run free in the surf called Muir Beach. There are some homes along the
edge of the beach but for the most part they do not distract from the beach.
Only problem is that I often sit and wonder just what I would have to do to
own one of these homes. I doubt selling even my soul would buy me one of
these beautiful homes.

Since you can't catch a sunset buried in the redwoods of John Muir Woods, we
often jump in the car and make it down to Muir Beach to catch the sunset.
As you can see, this really worked out on this day. In the water you can
see a surfer as he sits on his board waiting for the next swell. This
image would lead you to believe that the swells were small but that was not
the case. He caught some great waves and I will post proof in the coming
days as I re-upload my sets.

This is life in California. Spending my weekends on the beach watching the
sunset with my wife, dogs and oh yes, of course, my cameras.
