Long time between my last portrait session is gone. Today I had the opportunity to take some studio shots with my wife. :-) We had really fun and I can still handle photoshop. This was the second time I completely haven't use frequency seperation and I like the look a lot more. What do you think?

Strobist Info: One 80cm octagon softbox with one Yongnuo YN560III @ ~1/16th ... 1/32th power straight from camera top. Triggered via Yongnuo YN560TX. I used a silver reflector to light up the shadows. Just look into the eyes. ;-)

This is quite possibly my favourite portrait from the whole Mongolia trip. It was taken at Amarbayasgalant, which is one of the top 3 Buddhist temples in Mongolia and is the country's most intact architectural complex. The setting is gorgeous, with the scenery of the mountain range Bürengiin Nuruu north of it.

The complex was originally built between 1727-1737 by the Manchu emperor Yongzheng, and dedicated to the great Mongolian Buddhist and sculptor Zanabazar. In 1937, the communists destroyed 10 out of the 37 temples and statues but it was restored between 1975-1990 with UNESCOs help. This was taken inside the intact Manal Temple within the complex.

Nothing can prepare you for Mongolia. Not even your imagination. Come here to experience the unexpected, the unseen and the unreal. You don't know what you're missing till you get into the middle of it. Check out the whole set - Mesmerizing Mongolia.

I shot this yesterday with a wonderful girl who bid on my donation of a portrait session to the Belcourt theatre!

I lucked out, huh? :)

These are new tones for me, since I usually go straight for vibrant/bright editing. :) I had a little help from my friend Sara Kiesling, from her new May action set! You can purchase it on her site: www.sarakiesling.com/actions
