There were lots of children chasing after giant soap bubbles on the Riverside Walk not far from the London Eye. This is a boy popping one of them. Let's hope soap bubbles will be the only bubbles to bust in London for a long time, despite the UK blocking a financial transaction tax. In the background is Hungerford Bridge.

It's been a long time since I took this photo and I don't remember exactly where I took it but it must have been somewhere on the Esplanade de la Défense. You can see the Grande Arche in the background and in your back standing there would lie the Seine river and behind it, Paris.

The bust of a girl in the Parc de Bagatelle. The Parc de Bagatelle is a wonderful garden within the Bois de Boulogne next to Paris. It's a bit hard to reach but I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It was constructed at the time of Marie-Antoinette who was actually involved in a bet surrounding its creation. So while the time has left its mark on this bust's face, the woman that became of the girl who stood model for it has seen the French Revolution and is now long dead.

I hate HDR, I really do. In 99% of the images it is nothing but a cheap effect to make boring pictures "pop". Would be ok if it was a rare effect but it's not, it's all over Flickr. So please don't ask me why I did this. Probably it's just because I've got a cold today and that misguided my taste or something. I tried to make it look like a drug experience so that there's at least some reason for the artificial HDR looks.

What I do like about this picture is the triangular geometry and the black/white contrast. It's been taken on the Velmerstot, the highest mountain of the Eggegebirge in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
