INFORMATION FILED IN TUCSON SLAYING
An information charging Alfred Shackleford with the murder of James R. Dodson in an East Congress street real estate office several weeks ago was filed in the superior court yesterday by K. Berry Peterson, county attorney. The next step in the proceedings of Shackleford case will be his arraignment and the entering of his plea, after which the date of his trial will be set. No opinion concerning the probable date of the arraignment was expressed yesterday at the county attorney's office.

MOUNTAIN CONTEST IS SIGNED BY WHITE
Mayor John E. White yesterday signed the papers of the de novo proceedings against the claim of James R. Dodson to land on Sentinel Peak, which were then served on the government land office at Phoenix.
At a recent special meeting of the city council Mayor White refused to sign proceedings setting forth the assertion that Dodson's claim had been fraudulently filed. The present action merely states that the claim was improperly made. The next step taken in the case of the city's attempt to disqualify the Dodson claimants will be the hearing of the case by the land office at Phoenix, the mayor said. A chamber of commerce official stated last night that it was hoped that a review of the case might lead to a change in the attitude of the land office regarding these claims.
