We were mucking along in a four-wheel drive vehicle driven by our Navajo guide when I spied this photo possibility and yelled "stop". I am as pleased with this shot as any I have ever taken. My shooting buddy Chuck gave the gigantic cliffs scale and the incredible Nikon 14-24mm zoom was able to take it all in. Five-exposure HDR assembled in PhotoAcute but with no tonemapping. I am beginning to think that was creates the "phony" look of HDR is tonemapping.
