The Haas sisters started out learning Classical music before attending the Valley of the Moon Fiddle School in the Santa Cruz Mountains for the first time in 1995 at the ages of 11 and 8. This has led via the influence of tutors Alasdair Fraser and Bruce Molsky to a focus by Natalie on Scottish music and by Brittany on Old Time music. I saw the duo twice during NAFCo: on the Thursday and the Sunday.
