5th August (afternoon) 2018 at the Bedford Hotel, Sidmouth (supporting Steve Tilston).

Sidmouth Folk Week.

Country: Britain - Scotland. Style: Traditional & Contemporary Scottish Folk.

Lineup: Brian Cromarty (v/g/mandola), Douglas Montgomery (fiddle/g).

I have now seen Saltfishforty three times and Brian Cromarty and Douglas Montgomery as part of the Chair three times (going back to when they were still Lazy Boy Chair). Six and four times if you include the Festival Club/Late Night Sessions appearances at Celtic Connections. I have photographed each group one before: Saltfishforty with numerous guests (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157662496614173/) and the Chair (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157650311436028/). I an pretty sure that whenever I have heard Cromarty sing before ir was a contemporary song. This time he demonstrated that traditional songs can be found in Orkney by performing "Oh Dear Oh", which is included in the Big Orkney Song Project.
