BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Final, Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/.
Since 2001 six traditional musicians based in Scotland have competed at Celtic Connections for the title of Young Traditional Musician of the Year (though this year the number was down to five as one finalist Luc McNally had injured his elbow). As it is normally held during the last weekend of the festival and my visits are usually based around the middle weekend, this was only the second final I have attended (the other was in 2009)'

Lineup: Rory Matheson (p), Michael Bryan (g), Paul Jennings (percussion).
Rory Matheson from Assynt, Sutherland played the accordion before switching to the piano.
