9th June 2017 at King and Queen, London W1.
Musical Traditions Folk Club, www.englishfolkinfo.org.uk/mustrad/mtc.html.
Country: Britain & Ireland (British resident). Style: Traditional Irish Folk.
Lineup: Mick Linane (fiddle), Sinéad [Linane] Munroe or Mary [Kilkenny] Linane (fiddle), Maureen [Linane] Hankins (button accordion), Jimmy Murphy (fiddle), John MacLeod (flute), Reg Hall (p), and guests including Oliver Mulligan (v), Breda McKinney (v), Racker Donnelly (recitations).
The Linane Family includes husband and wife Mick and Mary and daughters Sinead and Maureen (two sons not present also play instruments). Musicians in the family go back at least another generation to Mary's parents Johnny and Mary Kilkenny of Glenfarne, Co.Leitrim. Though long settled in London the family make frequent vistits to the village. I have seen the Linane Family and Reg Hall before - at this Club in 2006 and at their regular session home the Auld Triangle in 2007. I took photos of most of the group and others billed as "North London musicians" at the launch of Reg Hall's "Irish Music in London" CDs, see: www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/northlondonmusicians/. As well as Maureen with the London Lasses and the Auld Triangle Ceili Band (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/maureenlinane,-lin...) and Sinéad also with the Auld Triangle Band (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/sineadlinane.-lina...).
