21st January 2019 at the Royal Concert Hall (Main Auditorium), Glasgow (supporting Mariza).

Celtic Connections Festival, www.celticconnections.com/.

Country: Britain - Scotland. Style: Traditional Scottish Folk.

Lineup: Mischa Macpherson (v), Kim Carnie (v), Charlie Stewart (fiddle), Innes White (g), Alistair Iain Paterson (p/harmonium), James Lindsay (b), Signy Jakobsdottir (d/percussion).

I saw this group three times at Celtic Connections 2019: Mischa Macpherson's New Voices commission in the Strathclyde Suite, a support slot at the Main Auditorium and at the Late Night Sessions (the last two previewing some of the New Voices songs). Called Bho Èirigh gu Laighe na Grèine (Sun, Moon, Land, Life, Sea and first performed at the 2018 Blas festival, it consists of settings of ancient and modern Gaelic poetry (plus some spoken poetry and instrumentals). I have taken photos of Macpherson before in 2015 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157650906647201/ and www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157655538686453/ and www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157648731717704/) and in 2017 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157677235121483/). www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157677235121483/). I have also photographed all the other musicians. spart from Kim Carnie, with other bands (to view click on the musician's name in My Tags).
