17th March 2017 at London Irish Centre (McNamara Hall), London NW1.

Country: Ireland. Style: Traditional Irish Folk /World Music Fusion.

Lineup: Ronan O'Snodaigh (v/bodhrán/g), Rossa O'Snodaigh (mandolin/g/darbuka), Colm O'Snodaigh (flute/low whistle), Dee Armstrong (fiddle), James Mahon (uilleann pipes/shakers), Seanan Brennan (g/mandola), Brian Hogan (bass g), Dave Hingerty (d) and guest: Dav S Daheley (dhol).

This band was formed in Dublin in 1987. The three O'Snodaigh brothers have been part of it since early on. I have seen them twice before, at the Barbican in 1999 and the Hammersmith Irish Centre in 2006. They combine Irish traditional music with African and Balkan influences. For much of their set they were joined by Dav Daheley who played alongside James Mahon as a stand-in with Afro Celt Sound System from 2011, and then as a member of the James McNally - Martin Russell version of the group.
