Country: China - Xinjiang (British resident) & Krgyzstan (British resident) & Britain. Style: Traditional Uyghur.

Lineup: Rahimä Mahmut (v), Dilzat Mahmut Turdi (dap/v), Rachel Harris (dutar), Nizamidin Sametov (tämbur/dap), Iskender Ding (dap/rawap) and guest: Patigul Arken (dancer).

The London Uyghur Ensemble was established in 2004 and play the music of the Uyghur people of Xinjiang in western China. I have seen them twice before at the same venue in 2009 as part of the SOAS Concert Series and in Hyde Park during the 2008 London Diaspora Music Village..
