13th November 2016 at Barbican (Foyer), London EC2.

London Jazz Festival (free event), www.londonjazzfestival.org.uk/.

Country: Switzerland. Style: Jazz - Modern.

Lineup: Michael Arbenz (p), Thomas Lähns (b), Florian Arbenz (d) and guest: Greg Osby (alto sax).

This trio was founded in 2006 (before that the twin Arbenz brothers were mostly billed as part of the New Jazz Trio), and often tours with a guest. One of the regular ones has been Greg Osby (from St Louis and now based in NYC). He had performed with Michael and Florian Arbenz before Vein, from around 1998 (they released an album together in 2001). As well as his own career as a group leader Osby has played with (amongst others) Jack DeJohnette, Andrew HillI and the M-Base Collective. I saw him in 2007 as part of a version of the World Saxophone Quartet (renamed the World Saxophone Group) at the New Orleans Jazzfest.
