Steve Knightley and Phil Beer from Devon have been friends since 1972 whwn they were teenagers. They recorded an album together in 1987 and became a full-time partnership in 1990. Since 2004 they have been joined by Miranda Sykes on bass (originally from Licolnshire and now Devon based).
