15th September 2016 at Kings Place (Hall Two), London N1.
Part of Folk at Kings Place.
Country: Britain. Style: Traditional English Folk.
Lineup: Andy Cutting (melodeon), Rob Harbron (concertina), Sam Sweeney (fiddle/viola).
This band, launched in 2014, brings together three familiar names from the English Folk scene. They focus on less familiar tunes from 17th and 18th century collections e.g. The English Dancing Master (John Playford), John of the Green The Cheshire Way (John Offord) and Three Extraordinary Collections (Paul Stewart) as well as their own compositiions. In the past I've taken photos of Cutting solo, with Blowzabella and in a trio with Martin Simpson & Nancy Kerr (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/andycutting,-leveret/), and of Harbron with Emma Reid and with Fay Hield (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/robharbron,-leveret/); and of Sweeney solo and with Fay Hield (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/samsweeney,-leveret/.
