Lineup: Riccardo Tesi (diatonic accordion/tamburello), Maurizio Geri (v/g/percussion), Claudio Carboni (soprano sax/alto sax), Gigi Biolcati (percussion/v).

Riccardo Tesi founded Banditalia in 1992, and apart from changes to the percussionist the lineup has remained stable. Their music is largely composed by Tesi but incorporates tradtional styles, but also Jazz and sounds from countries around the world. The main local influence is Tuscan (both Tesi and Geri are from Pistoia in Tuscany). Carboni is from Emilia-Romagna (Bologna) and Biolcati from Piedmont (Santhià). I saw Banditalia in 2007 in Brussels (see www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/sets/72157626254826974/), and Biolcati in 2008 with the pan-European band Evening Star.
