Tessa Souter (now aged 60) from London moved to San Francisco in 1992 and on to NYC in 1997. Two years later she shifted from a career in journalism to becoming a professional musician. She released her first album in 2004. Her set drew on her various albums including the to be released "Picture in Black and White". The latter is about roots and identity, and was inspired by her discovery at the age of 28 that her birth father was black from Trinidad rather than white from Spain.
