The London Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1932, becoming a Resident Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall in 1992. The Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme bridges the transition between college and the professional platform for young musicians. 13 of the 16 members of the programme performed at this concert alongside LPO Principals, members and guests. They were conducted by the Orchestra's Principal Conductor Vladimir Jurowski (born in Moscow and now resident in Berlin). They performed selections from Dmitry Shostakovich's Incidental music for a 1932 production of Hamlet (Op.32a).
