This was the second time Mike Vass has put this performance together. The first was for the Nairn Book and Arts Festival held in September 2015 in his home town. The theme which held it together (sometimes rather tenuously) was the Moray Firth (The Gathering Stream is the title of a book about the Firth). Both in terms of the lineup (the other musicans are from Fortrose, Cromarty, Cullen, Grantown-on-Spey and Huntly), and the songs and tunes.
