13th January 2016 at Cecil Sharp House (Trefusis Hall), London NW1.

Country: Canada & Sweden. Style: Traditional American (Old Time) & Irish Folk with African & Latin influences.

Lineup: Jessee [Jessica] Havey (v), Leonard Podalak (banjo/v), Anna Lindblad (fiddle), Colin Savoie-Levac (g), Kevin Joaquin Garcia (percussion).

The band's name is a varient of Scruj MacDuhk, Leonard Podalak's previous band (which itself was named after Scrooge McDuck, Donald's uncle, altered to try to avoid copyright problems). Podalak and Jessee Havey both from Winnipeg, Manitoba, were founder members of the band in 2001 (although Havey took a break between 2007 and 2014). The latest incarnation adds Anna Lindblad (from Västergötland on the west coast of Sweden), Colin Savoie-Levac (from St-Jean-de-Matha in Québec) and Kevin Garcia (from Detroit, MI). This was their first gig in London for a long time, probably since I saw them at the Borderline in 2005.
