3rd June 2015 near The Scoop, London SE1.

Part of More London Free Festival (annual event).

Country: Colombia (British resident) & Venezuela (British resident). Style: South & Central American Popular.

Line Up: Camilo Menjura (v/g), Ernesto Marichales (compact conga/cowbell/ cajón).

Camilo Menjura is from Bogota, Colombia and Ernesto Marichales from Caracas, Venezuela. I've taken photos of both these musicans several times, Menjura with Cumbé (twice), Mauricio Velasierra and Majagua (Matha Acosta's group), and Marichales with Wara and the Afro-American Project [to view click on the musician's name in my tags]. The songs they played ranged across the continent including Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia, and from Bolero to Cumbia (and along the way included the two staples for the non-Latin audience "La Bamba" and "Guantanamera"). Previous events I have attended here have been in The Scoop itself. This time the musicians played alongside it, which gave the listeners good views along the Thames, including of the Tower of London.
