22nd May 2015 at King and Queen, London W1 (resident band at Jimmy Crowley gig).

Musical Traditions Folk Club, www.englishfolkinfo.org.uk/mustrad/mtc.html.

Country: Britain. Style: Traditional Irish Folk (Sliabh Luachra).

Lineup: Michael Sheehy (piano accordion), Katie Howson (melodeon), John Howson (g), Roger Digby (concertina), Liz Giddings (fiddle).

Michael Sheehy is from Manchester and learned the polkas and slides of Sliabh Luachra from a father from Limerick. Since moving to Suffolk he has started playing this music with local musicians. I have taken photos of Sheehy and the Howsons at the 2013 Keith Summers Gathering, of the Howsons at the Club as half of Katie's Quartet, of Digby and Giddens with Bob Davenport and as two thirds of a Club resident band with Ken Lees [To view click on the name of the musician in my tags].
