The Aurora Trio was established by in 2012 by musicians who were then students at the Royal Academy of Music. The repertoire for this combination of instruments is limited. So the programme featured both works written for it (Arnold Bax's "Elegia Trio" and Toro Takemitsu's "And then I knew 'twas Wind", and other which had been adapted from compositions for an orchestra (Serge Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet") and piano (Maurice Ravel's "Sonatone").
