Ringvold is from Larvik in the south of Norway and has performed under the name Sailorine. They started playing together in 2006 (I saw them in 2007 and again in 2008, this time with Gary Louris), and now live in Joshua Tree, CA. Ringvold wasn't able to include the Kanun (Qānūn) to her range of instruments as hers had been stolen the day before.
