The Summerpole Celebration was created in the mid 1970s incorporating many strands of the English Folk tradition - erecting a maypole, a procession, a Jack-in-the-Green (the Guildford Bush), a King and Queen and Court, and plenty of Morris dancing. It is now part of Trinity Folk Festival (which was having its second year).
Country: Britain (Guildford). Style: Morris (Cotswold).
This local Morris side from Guildford was founded in 1972. As the name suggests it is male only. It performs dances from the Adderbury, Bampton, Brackley, Bucknell, Ducklington and Fieldtown traditions.
Here they were accompanied by a Meloden and a Recorder player.
